Head of Business Development Africa, Enel Green Power
Michele started his career within a Strategic Consultancy Company (LEK Partnership - London) focusing on Energy Practice and involved in the support to main worldwide utilities. Activities focused on defining the main strategic guidelines for the utilities supported by a solid quantitative analysis on new business segments and geographical expansion.
One of the international projects aimed at defining the development strategy for the Italian Falck Group which had already been converted from a steel company to IPP. The main result of the study was to focus on gas supplies and renewable energy.
With the role of assistant to the managing director for development activities Michele started to be involved directly in project development.
In particular was responsible to develop LNG rigassification facilities in Italy (Livorno project is now completed) and renewable projects in waste to energy, biomass, photovoltaic and wind power (today’s main business line of the company).
Enel Group went through a rapid internationalization process with new presence in Slovakia, Russia, Romania and France on top of all the Endesa international activities which have been integrated in the Enel Group.
Michele has been directly involved in this process being Head of Business Development of the Balkans region focused on defining the strategic guidelines for the area and identifying new project development opportunities.
Due to the increase of focus within the Group toward the client and energy efficiency Michele was involved in the startup, within the Italian sales business line, of a new sales segment involving Energy Efficiency products for the mass market as Head of South of Italy.
Finally the current position of Michele is within Enel Green Power as Head of Business Development Africa focusing on identifying the best areas for EGP’s potential growth and new opportunities for project development. Africa region is a main focus for EGP considering the strong need of new generation capacity and also the opportunity of supplying energy to newly connected clients.
